What is ASTM B381 Titanium Forged Ring?

 
Titanium Forged Ring has plasticity, high purity titanium elongation up to 50-60%, section shrinkage up to 70-80%, but low strength, not suitable for structural materials. The presence of impurities in titanium has a great impact on its mechanical properties, especially interstitial impurities (oxygen, nitrogen, carbon) can greatly increase the strength of titanium and significantly reduce its plasticity. Titanium as a structural material with good mechanical properties is achieved by strictly controlling the appropriate content of impurities in it and adding alloying elements.

Surface Surface treatment: turning and chamfering. Surface quality: the surface roughness Ra value of the two end surfaces should be no more than 3.2lμm (subject to ultrasonic inspection requirements), the surface roughness Ra of the inner and outer surfaces should be no more than 12.5μm (Ra should be no more than 3.2μm when ultrasonic inspection is required for the outer circumferential surfaces), and the chamfering radius should be 5~15mm. Application areas Aerospace, aviation, military, light industry, chemical industry, textile, medical and petrochemical fields.
