What is Titanium Anode？

Titanium anode is the anode in the titanium base metal oxide coating. According to its surface catalytic coating has different oxygen precipitation function, precipitation of chlorine function, respectively. General electrode material should have good electrical conductivity, small change of pole distance, strong corrosion resistance, good mechanical strength and processing performance, long life, low cost, good electrocatalytic performance of the electrode reaction, titanium is the most capable of meeting the above comprehensive requirements of the metal, the general use of industrial pure titanium TA1\TA2.
Product RoleThe role of the metal oxide coating on the titanium anode is: low resistivity, good electrical conductivity (titanium itself is not good at electrical conductivity), stable chemical composition of the precious metal coating, stable crystal structure, stable electrode dimensions, good corrosion resistance, long service life, good electrocatalytic properties, which is conducive to reducing the over-potential of the precipitation of oxygen and chlorine reaction, and saving electrical energy.

When electrolysis is carried out under high working current density, it is more suitable to use titanium anode.
4. Due to the adoption of metal anode, high temperature and high current density operation of chlorate electrolyzer becomes possible. The adoption of metal anode improves the structure of electrolyzer, reduces the consumption of electric power, accelerates the chemical reaction of hypochlorite and angry chlorate, and thus improves the production performance.
5, the adoption of DSA, mercury method and diaphragm method salt electrolyzer design concept and operating conditions can be improved, energy consumption can be reduced. DSA low over-potential characteristics, the surface between the electrodes and electrodes of the bubble is easy to exclude, is an important reason for the metal anode electrolyzer tank voltage reduction. Since titanium anode has many advantages, its development makes the chlor-alkali industry achieve great economic benefits, so it is soon popularized and used all over the world. The production capacity of chlor-alkali is about 41 million tons/year in the world, and the use of titanium anode is not less than 70%, and titanium anode is regarded as a major technological revolution in chlor-alkali industry. Subsequently, titanium anode has been widely used in many electrolysis industries.
6, The anode size is stable, and the distance between electrodes does not change in the electrolysis process, which ensures that the electrolysis operation is carried out under the condition of stable tank voltage.
7, It can avoid the short-circuit problem after the deformation of lead anode, so it can improve the current efficiency.
8、Titanium anode is light in weight, which can reduce labor intensity.
9. The switch is easy to make and can be highly accurate.
10、Low working voltage, therefore small power consumption, can save power consumption, DC power consumption can be reduced by 10% to 20%.
